Australia Awards Scholarships
Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered in Myanmar by the Australian Government to the next generation of leaders for development. Through study and research, recipients develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and build enduring people-to-people links with Australia.
Priority areas of study include education, health, agriculture, food security, economics, business, and governance (with a particular focus on economic governance). Cross-cutting issues will also be considered including disability, gender equity, humanitarian support, disaster management, development studies, law, public policy, and international relations.
Australia Awards scholarships offer complete entitlements with: pre-departure sessions; roundtrip airfare; monthly allowance; full tuition fees; support networks while studying and on return membership to the growing alumni network. In addition the program will fund English language training (if needed) to help an awardee meet the entry requirements of the Australian education system. The program also funds English language testing as part the selection phase.
During selection, applicants will be assessed for their professional and personal qualities, academic competence and their potential to have an impact on development challenges in Myanmar. Selection of scholarship recipients is highly competitive, transparent and merit based.
